March 29, 2005

Jayco, Inc., one of America’s largest manufacturers of recreation vehicles, celebrates the official opening of its western operations assembly facility today. The community of Twin Falls will serve as home to Jayco’s newest plant where the company’s popular Jay Flight travel trailers will be built for sale in western U.S. and Canadian markets.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local and state officials, including Idaho Governor Dirk Kempthorne, marks the beginning of RV production at the 154,000 square foot facility at 621 Washington Street South in Twin Falls. Jayco officials attending include Bertha Bontrager-Rhodes, chairperson emeritus; Wilbur Bontrager, chairman and chief executive officer; Derald Bontrager, president and chief operating officer; Jim Jacobs, vice president – sales and marketing; and David Yoder, general manager – Jayco Idaho.

The keys to the first unit to roll off the assembly line – a Jayco Jay Flight 27BH travel trailer – will be presented to Tadd Jenkins, president of Bish’s RV Super Center in Idaho Falls. Jenkins was instrumental in assisting Jayco officials with plans to locate the manufacturing operation in Idaho.

Initially employing some 35 manufacturing and support staff, the company plans to expand the number of workers to 80 by the end of 2005, as production increases. David Yoder, general manger of Jayco Idaho, said the new plant will be assembling Jayco’s best-selling products. “For more than a year, the Jay Flight travel trailer line has been one of the nations’ most popular RV products. We’re excited about the opportunity to increase production of Jay Flight towables in order to meet market demand; this gives us an opportunity to expand our already growing market share in the western U.S. and Canada.”
